Description

The Cross Keys Inn is an early 19th-century building, originally a public house and now a private residence, located on the west side of the High Street in Broadwindsor. The building is constructed of dressed stone with a hipped slate roof and 20th-century brick stacks at the right-hand gable. It has two storeys and three windows on the front elevation. The ground-floor windows are sash windows with vertical glazing-bars, set within stone arch-voussoirs. The first-floor windows are wooden casements, also with glazing-bars, and are cross-wing windows. A front door, centrally positioned, features six flush panels and a rectangular fanlight above. A simple wooden canopy, supported by iron brackets, covers the entrance. An attached outbuilding is located to the west, constructed of dressed stone with slate roofs and a single three-light window with a brick arch-head.
