Description

London House and the Post Office is an attached building that serves as both a store and a residence, constructed around 1800. It features ashlar stone walls and has a combination of slate and stone slab roofs, with stone gable-coping on the right side. There are brick stacks located on the left-hand ridge and the right-hand gable. The building is two storeys tall and includes 20th-century dormers on London House.

The front facade has four sash windows with glazing bars that are irregularly spaced; the ground floor windows are four panes wide, while those on the first floor are five panes wide. The left side of the ground floor contains a 19th-century shop front for the Post Office, which features canted shop windows with mullions on either side of a central door. The shop has a reeded wood surround and a rounded fascia board with a small bolt cornice.

The entrance to London House is located at the center right of the building, featuring a door with six flush and recessed panels, dating from the 19th century, and is topped by a flat canopy supported by wooden brackets. There is also a side range of the Post Office that extends up Back Lane, which has painted stone walls and is two storeys high with three windows that have 20th-century metal casements.
