Description

Broadwindsor House is a former vicarage, now a hotel, built in 1838 by I H Good from London for Reverend G Denison. The building features ashlar stone walls and slate roofs, designed as a steep-pitched U-plan house. The south elevation showcases stone stacks, including a group of four at the right-hand gable, with two additional groups behind the ridge at the right-hand side and left center. The house is two storeys high with attics and consists of three bays, with the two outer bays being gabled and slightly projecting.

On the ground floor, there are mullion and transom windows with three, three, and four lights, all featuring separate labels above. A canted bay is located on the left side. The first floor has windows with 3-light, 2-light, and 2-light mullions, while single-light attic windows are positioned in the gables. The steep gables are adorned with copings and moulded kneelers. The windows on the ground floor are wood-framed single-lights, while the first-floor windows are sashes with glazing bars.

The west entrance front has a stew gable and three stacks above, aligned with the porch. The porch features a four-centred entrance arch with straight chamfers and moulded jambs leading to the inner doorway. The door has small recessed panels, characteristic of the 19th century.
