Description
No. 63, including the left-hand return along Hound Street, is a stone house located on the corner of Hound Street, dating from 1625. It features a steep plaintile roof and a painted brick front from the 18th century. The building has two storeys and an attic, with four window bays and two boxed dormers. There is a dentil brick eaves cornice, and the first-floor sash windows are partly obscured by a shop front, with keystones and no glazing bars. The rear wing along Hound Street has a plaintile roof with a wary ridge and stone slates near the verge. It includes a ledged door and a horizontally sliding sash window above, and below, there is a ledged door with a fanlight and a modern window to the right. A large stone chimney is also present. The left-hand return forms a group with Nos. 2, 6, and 8 Hound Street.
