Description

CHEAP STREET 1. 1625 (South West Side) Nos 54 and 56 ST 6316 1/318 II GV 2. 1850 circa. 2 small buildings with shops at Cheap Street entrance to Methodist Church. 2 storey 1 bay ashlar fronts to Cheap Street with door- ways in splayed inner corner bays. Slate gabled roofs. Upper window in No 56 with slate gable and bargeboard over. Contemporary shop fronts, in each building with 1 window to Cheap Street and another window to return fronts; similarly shaped fanlights to corner doorways. Return fronts of brick; 3 window each above; below, in each front, a shop window, a square- headed doorway and a segmental headed window. Door to No 54 with cover strips, 6-flush panelled door to No 56. At west end, windows at an intermediate level and set on a curve.

Nos 54 and 56, Gate, lamp and overthrow between Nos 54 and 56, The Methodist Church and Nos 58 to 82 (even) form a group.
