Description

The gate, lamp, and overthrow located between numbers 54 and 56 at the entrance to the Methodist Church from Cheap Street date from the mid-19th century. The structure features piers with chamfered edges that are attached to numbers 54 and 56. The cast-iron gates have uprights topped with fleur-de-lys finials that rise to two different heights. This gate, along with numbers 54 and 56, the Methodist Church, and numbers 58 to 82 (even), forms a cohesive group.
