Description
No 1 (Barclays Bank House) and No 3 on Hound Street date from 1625 and were previously occupied by John Hazard and Son, Tailors. The front of the building is from the 18th century to the early to mid-19th century and features a two-storey coursed rubble facade. It has modern sash windows and a door with a moulded architrave. The bay at the left end of No 1 is slightly set back and includes a sash window with glazing bars above and below, and a lower window with a segmental brick voussoir. To the right, there is a six-panelled door in a frame. No 3 has two sash windows above and a later sash window with glazing bars to the right below. On the ground floor of No 3, there is a modern Georgian-style shop front flanked by narrow pilasters, designed by the same architect as the adjacent Barclays Bank.
