Description
66 Cheap Street is a building dating from 1625, located on the southwest side of Cheap Street. It is a former premises occupied by Henry George. The structure is two stories tall with a three-window red brick front, featuring a moulded fascia at the eaves and a plain tile roof. The first floor has three 18th-century sash windows set in wide flush frames. On the right side, there is a 19th-century shop front, while on the left, there is a late 18th-century doorcase with a dentil cornice supported by brackets, which are decorated with fluting and were formerly adorned with medallions. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 54 and 56, a gate, lamp and overthrow between Nos 54 and 56, the Methodist Church, and Nos 58 to 82 (even).
