Description
Nos 59 and 61 on Victoria Street are a pair of three-storey buildings, dating from around 1820 to 1830. They are constructed of stock brick and feature a brick dentil band cornice and a parapet with stone coping. The upper floors have four windows, which are recessed glazing bar sashes set beneath flat gauged arches. The ground floor has two paired shop fronts under a common fascia, with three light thin mullioned windows flanked by thin pilasters. A central door is topped with a rectangular fanlight, and ornate console brackets are positioned on either side of the fascia. This pair, along with Nos 57 to 61 (odd), 61A, 63 to 69 (odd), The Baptist Church, and Nos 71 to 73, form a cohesive group.
