Description
The Hope Public House is a building dating from around 1780, constructed of red brick and featuring two storeys. It has brick dentil eaves and a hipped tiled roof. The front elevation includes three windows on the first floor, which are flush architrave framed sashes with flat rubbed gauged brick arches. The ground floor was modified for use as a public house between 1830 and 1850, with a stucco facade and parapet coping. It features two tripartite glazing bar sashes and a central double door that is flush panelled and glazed, set within a pilaster frame. At the rear, there is a first-floor canted bay window, likely from around 1800 or the early 19th century, which has roughcast facing and a hipped tiled roof, with three pointed arched lights framed in stucco.
