Description

The Criterion Public House, located at 72 Peascod Street, is a building dated 1834 situated on a corner site with Victoria Street. It is two storeys high, featuring a rendered first floor with a parapet and moulded coping. The building has two windows, with one being blind to Victoria Street, and both are recessed glazing bar sashes. A fascia and shallow cornice extend over both fronts on the ground floor, supported by pilasters at each end. Although the doors and windows have been partly altered, they still retain shallow moulded architrave surrounds.
