Description

The Baptist Church, built in 1839, features a stucco-faced classical design with crisp detailing. The building has a dignified elevation supported by four giant pilasters, with the two central ones being Ionic. It is adorned with an enriched frieze and a moulded full-width pediment that displays the date of construction. The façade includes two large round-headed windows and a round-headed recess above the doorway. The Baptist Church is part of a group that includes Nos 57 to 61 (odd), 61A, 63 to 69 (odd), and Nos 71 to 73 (odd).
