Description
Number 2 St Leonard's Road is a three-storey house built around 1830-1840, constructed of painted brick. It faces Clarence Road and features a shop on the corner with St Leonard's Road. The house has a parapet front with stone coping and three windows that have recessed glazing bar sashes topped with flat gauged arches. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels and includes a semi-circular fanlight with radial swag glazing. Attached to the corner is a single-storey shop that was built at the same time, which has a radiused end bay and plate glass windows. The shop retains its original frame, including Greek key panelled pilasters, a reeded frieze, and a shallow cornice. This building forms the end of a group that includes Nos 2, 6 to 10 (even), and 10A Clarence Road.
