Description

The buildings at 23 and 25 William Street date to around 1830 to 1840. They are a pair of three-storey buildings constructed of painted brick, topped with a stone coping to the parapet. Each building has two windows to the upper floor, featuring glazing bar sashes under flat, gauged brick arches.

The front of No. 23 was formerly a public house. It is distinguished by pilasters, a frieze, and a cornice, including a carriage arch. No. 25 has a small, pilastered shop window with a frieze and cornice, and a round-headed doorway with a fanlight. The buildings are part of a group with Nos. 15 to 25 (odd).
