Description

The Wellington Public House is a mid to later 18th century building on Peascod Street. It has a three-story front of stuccoed brick with a parapet coping. A quoin pilaster is present on the right-hand side, and a lead rainwater head and down pipe are located on the left. The upper floors feature three windows with slightly cambered, near-flush framed sash windows, retaining their original glazing bars. The ground floor presents a circa 1850-60 public house front, consisting of a central window and panelled and glazed doors with fanlights on either side. These doors are flanked by engaged columns on pedestals, topped with elaborately decorated composite capitals, which are painted. A frieze and projecting cornice run across the front.
