Description

The Bakers Tavern is an early 19th-century building on Peascod Street, originally listed as The Bull Hotel. It is constructed of rusticated stucco, rising to three storeys. The principal elevation features three sash windows within architrave surrounds. The ground floor has three wide openings; the central one contains a door with side lights and a fanlight, flanked by pilasters. The left-hand opening has vermiculated rustication and is likely of mid-19th century origin. The right-hand opening is similar but contains a three-light sash window. The building is topped by a capped parapet with a shaped raised centre. A full-height, one-window extension, matching the style, includes a carriage arch.
