Description

The Royal Free Schools, built in 1859 by architect G E Street, is a Gothic-style building made of red brick with a gabled slate roof. The front features two gables, with the left one being half-hipped. The right gable includes a large four-light tracery window with a transom. In the center, there is a half-hipped dormer with a tracery window, and to the left of this dormer is a chimney. The buildings at Nos 5 and 7 Bachelor's Acre, which flank The Royal Free Schools, contribute to the group value of the site.
