Description
The Windsor Almshouses, built in 1862, are Gothic-style almshouses arranged in an E shape around three sides of a garden. They feature polychrome brickwork. The central part of the main range facing the road has a three-bay arcade and a group of three pointed windows on the first floor. Above this is a steep gable with timber framing in a cusped quatrefoil pattern, topped by a small clock tower with a slate spire. On either side of the center, there are slightly recessed bays with steep hipped gables that have applied framing on their crowning gablets. The end blocks also have hipped gables. The building includes steep gabled porches supported by columns capped with foliate designs, contributing to its picturesque appearance.
