Description

This is a pair of houses located at Houndstone Corner, built in the 18th century and subsequently modified. They are constructed of coursed rubble ham stone, with two courses of brick at the top of the wall. The roof is covered in asbestos cement slate with plain gables, replacing what was originally thatch. Brick chimney stacks are also present. The houses are two storeys high and five bays wide. The ground floor features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with three lights, set in chamfered recesses without labels. Above, there are two-light casement windows with small panes. A plain doorway with French doors is located in the lower bay three. An outshut is located to the rear, likely built at the same time as the main structure, and also features main entrances. The interiors have not been inspected. The premises were formerly the Houndstone Restaurant.
