Description
This is a late 17th-century building, originally timber-framed, which was altered and refaced in the 18th century. The walls are now rendered, and the roof is covered with modern pantiles. There are rendered stacks. The building is two storeys high. The ground floor has one double-hung sash window with a central glazing bar. A doorway, leading to a side passage, features a flush panel door with a moulded canopy supported by console brackets. A 19th-century shop front, belonging to The Coppersmiths, has a timber surround and a glazed door. The first floor has two double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. Internally, evidence of the original timber-frame construction remains. A rear outbuilding, largely rebuilt, was formerly a smithy; part of the brick forge remains, partly reconstructed.
