Description
31 West Street is an 18th-century building with brick walls laid in header bond and a brick dentil cornice at the eaves. It features a tiled roof with stone eaves courses and rendered stacks. The building has two storeys and attics. The main centre block includes an entrance doorway, which is accessed via a flight of stone steps, featuring a modern reproduction classical surround and a raised panel door. There are four double-hung round-headed sash windows with a central bar on the ground floor and five similar windows on the first floor. At each end of this block, there are lower two-storeyed sections with parapets. The western block has a round-headed door on the ground floor and a round-headed double-hung sash window with glazing bars on the first floor. The eastern block mirrors this, but has a matching window on the ground floor. The attic contains two dormers with hipped roofs and pivoted windows with glazing bars. There is a large modern extension at the rear and ornamental cast iron railings at the front boundary.
