Description

WEST STREET 1. 5193 (north side) No 31 SU 0000 SE 2/161 14.6.52 II GV 2. C18. Brick walls in header bond, brick dentil cornice to eaves. Tiled roof with stone eaves courses. Rendered stacks. Two storeys and attics. Main centre block has entrance doorway, approached up a flight of stone steps, with modern reproduction classical surround and raised panel door. Four double hung round headed sash windows with central bar only. Five similar windows to first floor. At each end of this block is a lower 2 storeyed block with parapets. The western block has a round headed door on the ground floor and a round headed double hung sash window with glazing bars on the first floor. The eastern block is similar, but with a matching window on the ground floor. Two dormers to attic, with hipped roofs and pivotted windows with glazing bars. Large modern extension at rear. Ornamental cast iron railings to front boundary. RCHM Monument 29.
