Description
Wareham Gate Lodge, located in East Lulworth, is a gatehouse to Lulworth Park that has been converted into two cottages. Originally built in the 17th century, it was re-erected on its current site in 1808. The building features stone walls, which are rendered on the east side, and a roof that is hidden behind battlemented parapets. It stands three storeys tall. The outer (east) elevation includes a central round-headed archway with a projecting surround and keystone. There are two mullioned windows on the ground floor and four on the first floor, with string courses separating the storeys and running along the base of the parapet. At each end, behind the Park wall, there are later single-storey extensions with tiled roofs. A date stone is positioned above the arch on the west front.
