Description
Nos 56 and 58 East Lulworth are a terrace of two cottages, which were formerly three, along with an attached stable range to the south. They likely date from the 18th century. The cottages have brick walls, tiled roofs, and brick stacks at the ends and center. They are two stories tall, with the brickwork of the upper storey appearing to be later. The front wall is buttressed.
No. 56 features two ledged doors. The ground floor has two horizontally sliding sash windows and one casement window. The first floor has three horizontally sliding sash windows and one casement window, all with glazing bars. No. 58 has a ledged door, with one casement window with glazing bars on the ground floor and three similar windows on the first floor.
The attached stable range has brick walls, is buttressed, and has a tiled roof. It is one storey with a loft. The ground floor includes a range of doors and horizontally sliding sash windows, along with one shuttered opening. There are three triangular gabled dormers in the loft. The buildings are included for their group value.
