Description

This is an 18th and early 19th century road bridge spanning a stream, which is a tributary of the Helford River. The bridge is constructed of mixed rubble over a foundation of vertically set shale rubble from an earlier bridge. It features a dressed granite plinth, quoins, voussoirs, and copings. The design includes a single span with a humped-back arch at each side, featuring projecting keystones. The parapets have a hogs-back coping. The original vertically-set shale rubble remains visible on either side of the bridge up to parapet level. The bridge is located in a picturesque setting at the head of a partly wooded creek.
