Description

This retaining wall is likely from the 18th century and is situated on the north-west side of Penrose Road in Helston. The wall is constructed of whitewashed rubble with tarred coping stones. There is a break in the wall approximately midway, allowing for vehicular access. The whitewashed walls characteristic of Helston represent a surviving local building tradition and are a distinctive feature of the town.
