Description

MADRON SW 43 SE 7/98 Hen house and barns north west of - Lower Boskinning GV II Hen house and adjoining barns. Circa mid C19. Granite rubble walls with granite dressings. Hipped scantle slate roofs. Plan: range of farm buildings comprising 2 barns (granaries over shippons), a shelter shed and a hen house far right set back from the front. Exterior: 2 storey barns, otherwise single storey. Least altered part right with barn, shelter shed and hen house. The barn has symmetrical 2 window front with central doorway and first-floor loading/winnowing doorway over. The shelter shed has large doorway right. The hen house, set back at far right has splayed corner right and small doorway left. The right hand return wall has ventilator or hen entrance left and doorway right. Interior: hen house has 5 nesting boxes built into the walls.
