No 15 Including Building Attached To North Corner And Garden Wall And Railings To South And West

No 15 is a house from the mid-19th century, along with a building attached to the north corner, a front garden wall, and railings. It is constructed from Killas rubble with granite quoins, jambstones, and lintels that are incised to resemble voussoirs. The roof is hipped, covered with grouted scantle slate, featuring wide bracketed eaves and rendered brick chimneys on the side walls.

The house has a double depth plan with two main front rooms, an entrance hall behind the left-hand room, and side service rooms at the rear. It is two storeys high with a two-window south-west front. The original first-floor windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The ground floor has later hipped-roofed bay windows with horned sashes and sidelights. The entrance is located within a lean-to conservatory on the left side wall, which dates to the early 20th century and has a canted entrance with a quatrefoil glazing pattern in the sidelights. The south-west gable end of the garden building features an original round-headed window with glazing bars. The property also has cast iron ogee gutters.

The front is enclosed by a low granite ashlar wall topped with iron railings and supported by round-headed granite monolith piers. This house is part of a row of similar contemporary houses in St Johns Terrace, creating an impressive group despite some later alterations to individual houses.
