Description

The Spiller monument is a headstone located in the churchyard about 13 metres southeast of the south aisle of the Church of St Bartholomew in Lostwithiel. It dates from the 18th century and is made of slate. The headstone features a stepped rounded top with a border that is carved with bead and reel moulding, along with a primitive cherub's head in each corner. The lettering on the monument is well-preserved and commemorates John Elliott Spiller, who died at the age of 5 in 1746.
