Description

This is a pair of headstones located in the churchyard against the north wall of the north aisle of the Church of St Bartholomew in Lostwithiel. They date from the 18th century and are made of slate.

The first headstone is dedicated to Elizabeth Spiller, who passed away in 1750. It features a pylon shape with an incised stepped nowy head above the inscription panel, which includes stylised flowers in the spandrels, along with good lettering and a quatrain.

The second headstone commemorates Jacobus Jones, who died in 1772. It also has an incised stepped nowy head above the inscription panel, which is adorned with hearts pierced by arrows in the spandrels, and features a Latin inscription in good lettering.
