Description

This is a row of three headstones located in the churchyard about 4 meters south of the south transept of the Church of St Mary. They date from the 18th century and are made of slate. The first headstone is for John Williams, dated 1766, featuring a stepped, swept, and nowy-headed top with an inscription that includes a couplet. The second headstone is for Elizabeth Holmes, dated 1785, which has a nowy-headed and stepped top adorned with a cherub's head and wings, along with an incised border that contains a quatrain. The third headstone is for Mary Friend, dated 1787, also with a nowy-headed design, an incised border, and a cherub's head and wings, featuring an inscription with a valedictory quatrain.
