Description

The Linney is a bank barn built in the early 19th century, featuring alterations. It is constructed from granite and slatestone random rubble, with large granite quoins and a slate roof. The barn has a central doorway at the rear, which is at a higher ground level above a cart shed that has two openings facing the road at the front. The front of the barn includes two ground floor openings with segmental heads, a central squared granite pier, and a large upper loading door with a timber lintel. The right and left sides have ventilation slits in the gable ends, and the left side has a small single opening at ground floor level on the left. At the rear, there are upper loading doors with a hood extending from the pitch of the main roof, along with ventilation slits on both sides. The ground level at the rear was formerly higher. The interior has an upper level that is floored, but the roof is not accessible.
