52, St Michael'S Road

No. 52 on St Michael's Road is a house with an adjoining cottage, built in the early to mid-19th century. The front is finished in stucco, and it has an asbestos slate roof with brick chimneys on the party walls. The building has a double-depth plan; the house likely features two rooms at the front, flanking a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall and rear service rooms. The cottage probably consists of one room at the front, with a cross passage leading to a stair on the right and a kitchen behind the front room.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an overall four-window front facing northeast. The house displays a nearly symmetrical three-window façade with a central doorway. It features an original four-panel door with an overlight, and a classical-style porch that is approximately Tuscan, complete with an arched fascia and moulded cornice. The ground floor windows may have original four-pane hornless sashes, although some glazing bars have been removed. The first floor has original twelve-pane hornless sashes in narrower openings. The interior has not been inspected.
