Description
This milestone, dating from around the mid-19th century, is located on St Michael's Road in Ponsanooth. It is made of painted dressed granite and features a pyramidal head. The base is square in plan, supporting a triangular shaft above. The milestone has two inscribed sides that rise from large pyramid stops. The left side is inscribed with "REDRUTH 5 MILES CAMBORNE 8 MILES," while the right side reads "PENRYN 3 MILES FALMOUTH 5 MILES."
