1/140 The Old Mill II

Corn mill, later part of a clothing factory. Early/mid C19. Roughly coursed granite rubble; rag slate roof with corrugated iron to rear, half-hipped to left and gabled to right. 2 storeys; one-window range. Granite lintels over through-passage doorway to right, C20 door to centre and 8/8-pane sash to left; similar sash beneath eaves above. Similar sash to rear. Left return wall has cast-iron breast-shot wheel by Dingry Foundry of Truro, with wooden spokes and paddles. Interior: complete set of machinery includes Hurst frame, gearing mill stones in octagonal frame and hopper. One of a group of mills along the Kennet valley.
