Description
Reawla House and Slate Villa is a house with an adjoining cottage, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The house features a granite ashlar front, while the cottage has slate hanging on its front. The house has a concrete tile roof with brick chimneys at the original gable ends, and the cottage has a grouted scantle slate roof with a half hip to the left.
The building has a double depth plan, with two rooms at the front of the house on the right side, a central cross passage leading to a stair between the rear service rooms, and one room at the front of the cottage on the left, which has an axial passage with a lobby entrance and a service room behind.
The exterior is two storeys high, with an overall four-window front on the southeast side, featuring a symmetrical three-window front for the house with a central doorway on the right. The house has a 19th-century panelled door with an overlight set within a 20th-century conservatory, and early 20th-century two-pane horned sash windows. The cottage has slightly older six-pane horned sash windows at the front and rear. The interior has not been inspected.
