Description

Barrowfield, also known as Trebehor Old Farmhouse, is a farmhouse with an adjoining trap-house, dating from the late 18th century for the house and the late 19th century for the trap-house and stables. The building features dressed coursed granite on the front and ends, with granite rubble elsewhere. It has an asbestos slate roof with dressed granite stacks that have been later heightened with bricks over granite coped gable ends. The trap-house has a grouted scantle slate roof.

The farmhouse has a plan that is 1½ rooms deep, with two rooms at the front: a kitchen/living room on the left and a parlour on the right. There is a lobby entrance and stair between these rooms, originally flanked by a small rear pantry on the left and a rear dairy on the right. The trap-house, which includes stables, is set back on the right side, and there is a 20th-century extension on the left.

The exterior is two storeys high and nearly symmetrical, featuring a two-window southwest front with a doorway located to the right of the middle, central to the fenestration. The original openings remain, but the door and the two-pane horned sash windows are from the 20th century. There are no openings on the rear wall. The trap-house and stables have a two-window northeast front with a central stable doorway and a wide carriage doorway on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
