GV II Terrace of 13 houses. Early 1840s with some houses completed later in the same decade. Coursed rubble with granite lintels and quoins; gabled artificial slate roofs with brick stacks. Single-depth plans with outshots and double-depth plans with integral outshots for services. 2 storeys; 26-window range, No 25 being a larger double-fronted 3-window front. Granite lintels over 2/2-pane sashes, formerly 4/4-pane but with horizontal glazing bars removed, and C20 doors. Interiors said to include original joinery and stick-baluster staircases with turned newels. Subsidiary Features: rubble walls enclose rear gardens, with wall along Telegraph Hill to rear having slate-roofed former privies and original dowelled fence to No 23 and gates to Nos 9 and 13. An exceptionally well-preserved row of workers' housing, Mills Street having been built as a speculative development for workers in the tin industry.
