Description

Lynmouth Cottage is likely an 18th-century house, although it has been altered. The walls are constructed of rough rubble and cob, and the roof is covered with corrugated iron, which probably replaced thatch. The house has a rectangular plan and two low storeys, with two bays. The doorway is offset to the right and features a four-panel door, sheltered by a later brick porch with a monopitch roof. The ground floor has four-pane sash windows with exposed timber lintels, while the first floor has two-light horizontal sliding sashes positioned directly under the eaves. A substantial external chimney stack is located at the right-hand gable. The interior has not been inspected, but likely contains features of architectural interest. The cottage forms a group with the adjacent house to its left, and with the carpenter's shop opposite.
