Description

This farmhouse, located on the south side of Higher Truscott, likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with a half-hipped end on the left and a gable end on the right. There is a stone rubble end stack on the right and an axial stack to the left of the center, which has a rendered brick shaft.

The layout is probably a three-room design with a cross or through passage, and the ground slopes down to the left. The lower end on the left appears to have originally been unheated and partly used as a barn. The entrance is located to the right of center, flanked by two principal rooms that are heated by the end stack on the right and the axial stack on the left.

The exterior has two storeys and an asymmetrical three-window front, with the windows primarily positioned to the right. The front elevation features 19th-century casements with timber lintels. There is a 20th-century door to the right of center, flanked by a two-light casement on the right and a three-light casement on the left. To the left, there is a shuttered ungazed opening. On the first floor, there are three two-light casements arranged above the ground floor openings. The interior has not been inspected.
