ST STEPHENS BY HIGHER TRUSCOTT SX 38 NW LAUNCESTON 9/151 Farmhouse on south side of Higher Truscott - GV II

Farmhouse. Probably C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble. Rag slate roof with half-hipped end on left and gable end on right. Stone rubble end stack on right and axial stack to left of centre with rendered brick shaft. Plan: Probably 3-room and cross or through passage plan with ground sloping down to left. The lower end to left appears to have been originally unheated and partly used as a barn. Entrance to right of centre flanked by the 2 principal rooms heated by end stack (on right) and axial stack (on left). Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-window front with the windows disposed to the right. C19 casements on front elevation with timber lintels. C20 door to right of centre flanked by 2-light casement to right and 3-light casement to left. Shuttered unglazed opening beyond to left. First floor has three 2-light casements, disposed to right above the ground floor openings. Interior: not inspected.
