Description
Alder Park is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughcast cob and features corrugated-iron cladding on the right gable end, with a roof covered in corrugated iron over straw thatch. The house has a two-room plan and stands two storeys high. On the front, there are two early 20th-century casement windows directly below the eaves, with one late 20th-century casement window on either side of a half-glazed door that is sheltered by a modern half-glazed porch. The house has integral end stacks and single-storey lean-tos attached to the gable ends, with the left side partly slate hung at the front. Inside, the first floor reveals a collar truss roof with six bays, including short end bays. There is a two-storey addition from the 20th century at the rear, which is not of special architectural interest.
