Description

This building is a linhay located approximately 20 metres to the northwest of Weston Farmhouse, dating from around the mid-19th century, though it may have earlier origins. The structure features stone rubble side and rear walls, along with stone rubble piers that support a first floor made of timber boards arranged horizontally. It has a slate roof with hipped ends and deep overhanging eaves.

The overall plan is rectangular, with an open-fronted ground floor. Originally, the left side housed a blacksmith's shop, while the right side includes a 19th-century lean-to extension that contains a complete row of hen boxes. The building is two storeys high, and the ground floor is open-fronted, with several piers rendered and painted. The blacksmith's shop on the left is weatherboarded, and the first floor is also weatherboarded, likely with 19th-century horizontal boards.

Inside, the floor joists are quite substantial, with at least one being chamfered. The roof features a complete 19th-century king post truss. The lean-to extension on the right maintains a row of complete hen boxes with the wooden outer framing still in place.
