Description

The barn and outbuildings located to the south and east of the Old Farmhouse at Cullacott date back to the 17th century, with extensions made in the 19th century and some parts rebuilt in the 20th century. The structures are made of partly rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with rag slate roofs that have hipped ends on the right and front right.

The main barn has a rectangular shape with opposing doors near the center on both the right and left sides. An early 19th-century wing was added in front of the left-hand threshing door, extending the front wall to the left and creating an overall 'L' shaped plan. A mid-19th-century open-fronted cart shed was added towards the rear on the right side, which is further accompanied by a two-storey outbuilding where the ground slopes down to the right.

On the exterior, the earlier barn on the front right features a half-hipped end and three rows of pigeon holes across its front. The later extension on the left has plank doors, while the rendered range attached to the left is a 20th-century remodelling of an earlier outbuilding, with only parts of the original walls remaining. The right side of the threshing barn is rendered, and set back on the right is the single-storey open-fronted cart shed supported by timber posts. The two-storey outbuilding on the right has a stable-type door on the ground floor, with the first floor partly covered in corrugated plastic and an outshut attached to the front.

Inside, the earlier barn features two 17th-century chamfered timber doorframes.
