Description

The building is a barn, dating to approximately 1800, situated about 50 metres north of the farmhouse. It is now used as a store. Constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, it has a half-hipped roof of stone slates. The barn follows a 7-bay plan with two threshing floors. Timber lintels span the entrances to the threshing floors, which have gabled midstreys leading to a former rick yard at the rear. There are ventilation slits and nesting holes set under the eaves. Inside, the barn features a 7-bay side-purlin roof.

Facing the foldyard at the front are two cowhouses constructed of similar materials and attached to the outer bays. The cowhouse to the right has timber lintels over two doors, flanked by a ventilation slit, and includes nesting holes under the eaves, with an interior open to a side-purlin roof. The cowhouse to the left has been substantially rebuilt. The barn and cowhouses form part of the foldyard behind City Farmhouse, and are included in the listing for their group value.
