Description

No. 1 Newland Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan and is one storey high with an attic, presenting a two-window range. There is a timber lintel above a 20th-century door, and flat stone arches over 20th-century cross windows. The building also has two hipped dormers that contain 18th-century two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. This property is attached to No. 38 (Redthorne House) on Mill Street.
