Description

Nos. 12 and 14 Newland Street consist of two cottages. No. 14 dates to 1776. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled roof covered in tiles, and has a brick end stack. The cottage has a single-unit plan, two storeys, and one window. A timber lintel sits above the 20th-century door on the right side. Flat stone arches top early 20th-century three-light casement windows. A contemporary two-storey, single-bay range extends to the rear, constructed of similar materials and featuring a two-light, leaded casement. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
