Description
Redthorn House is an early 18th-century house located on Mill Street in Eynsham. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a hipped stone slate roof with brick ridge stacks. The building has an L-plan layout with a rear right wing and stands two storeys tall, with a six-window range.
Notable architectural features include a flat stone arch and an 18th-century bracketed flat hood above a panelled and glazed door situated in the second bay from the right. There are flat stone arches over three 18th-century leaded cross windows above the door, along with similar 20th-century windows, and a late 18th-century or early 19th-century six-pane sash window to the right of the door. The right end wall has flat stone arches over a blocked door and two 18th-century one-light leaded casements, as well as an 18th-century hipped roof dormer with a moulded cornice. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is likely to be of interest.
