Description

This building is a barn, linhay, and stable dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, located approximately 40 meters northwest of Woodhouse Farmhouse. It features slate stone rubble walls and a hipped corrugated iron roof. The structure is L-shaped, with the barn at the top and the linhay and stable forming a wing to the south. The barn is two stories high, with storage above and a shippon below. It has a first-floor doorway on the far right and three ground-floor doorways with voussoir lintels. There are two rows of pigeon-holes below the eaves. The tall, two-story, four-bay linhay projects from the left-hand end, supported by rubble piers, with weatherboarding infill on the first floor and rubble and concrete below. The stable at the end of the wing features a central doorway, with a window on either side and a loft opening in the end wall. Inside, there are pegged A-frame roof trusses with waney collars.
