Description
Devon Square, located at 1276 Mill Street, is a group of early 19th-century buildings, numbered 1 to 9 consecutively. The front of the buildings is roughcast, while the rest is made of slate stone rubble with red brick voussoirs. The end elevation is colour washed. The buildings have a hipped slate roof and red brick stacks, and they are two storeys high, forming an L-shaped block. The west block features six ranges of cased sashes with glazing bars, while the north block has two additional sashes. Although Nos 7 and 8 have been altered, each still retains one cased sash with glazing bars on the first floor. Nos 1, 2, 4, and 6 have original doors with four flush panels each. The rear of the west block has six ranges of casements with glazing bars, with those on the ground floor placed in the same openings as doors.
