Description

This is an 18th-century building, altered subsequently, located on Fore Street. It is a three-story structure of narrow-coursed stone, incorporating voussoirs to the flat arches of what were originally flush-frame windows. These windows have been replaced with modern casements, three on each upper floor. A two-story wing, situated to the right, features a three-light sash window on the first floor, with Gothic panes at the head of the window, set within a flat arch with a key stone. An enriched wood eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof is covered with machine tiles. Modern ground floor shops and entrances have been added. The building is set within a group that includes numbers 4 to 32 (even) and the Roman Catholic Church.
