Description

Nos 21 and 23 on Fore Street are an altered pair of 18th-century buildings that stand three stories tall. The upper floors are hung with slate and each building features two windows. No 23 has mullion transom casements, while No 21 has flush frame sash windows with only center glazing bars remaining. Both buildings have red brick chimneys with capping. There are two early 19th-century wooden shop fronts, each with a six-panel design and a fanlight above the central entrance. A small wooden cornice runs along the eaves. These buildings are part of a group that includes the Anchor Hotel and the Evangelical Church.
